I’m Feeling Lucky
2024
42.5 x 29.3 inches
Digital photo printing on cotton paper

The work consists of photographs showing a person wearing a ghillie suit covered in clovers. The suit, originally designed for military camouflage, now functions as a “good luck” charm, symbolizing hope for the artist who, unable to paint anymore, has become an office worker. Luck is portrayed as something sought after, but not always enough. The suit, while not effectively camouflaging the wearer, offers just enough protection to avoid failure—whether in finding a job, a degree, or even a good discount. Over time, though, the suit becomes cumbersome, as the wearer clings to superstition, living in constant hope. Through irony, this comments on the shared experience of both winners and losers in the art world, caricaturing the artist’s own ambitions. It captures that moment of hope when we dream about the future, exaggerating a mea ningless act into material form. The average office worker fills out applications, dodges gunfire and presses Google’s “I’m Feeling Lucky” button.
